The OTA are NOT the government nor are we the tattoo police!
We are a group that is interested in finding out about new regulations that impact the tattoo industry before they happen. We are committed to informing local artists and shops of these regulations, and discussing how to appropriately handle new legislation.
We are working alongside Metro Licensing and Toronto Public Health and giving industry feedback on many of these issues.
ALL Personal Service Settings (PSS) will need a licence to operate, and must comply with ALL conditions, by July 1st, 2014.
The BodySafe Program is now in effect in the GTA as of July 1st 2013. The purpose of the BodySafe program is to ensure that PSS owners / operators use safe practices when providing these services to prevent the spread of infections such as hepatitis B, hepatitis C and human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), and other fungal and bacterial infections to those who receive or offer personal care services
